Since 1969, Thornton Medical has helped deliver high-quality Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) services to assist the needs of the residents of Southern Colorado.
Over the past 50 years, Thornton Medical has evolved. Originally established under the name of Thornton Orthopedic, John and Janelle Hall owned and operated the organization which specialized as an Orthotics and Prosthetics Clinic. In 1991, John Hall and Richard Roth formed a separate company, Thornton Wheelchairs Plus, where they specialized in the areas of Durable Medical Equipment and Supply. In 2013, John & Janelle Hall decided to formally retire and Brian & Charnell Mayer, their daughter and son-in-law, acquired interest in the organization. In 2025, Brian & Charnell acquired the balance interest in Thornton Medical.
Over the past decade Thornton Medical has evolved into the focus areas of Aging in Place services through the specialty areas of Medical Supply, Mobility and Accessibility equipment.
Thornton Medical is nationally accredited by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services as a Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) provider. Thornton Medical is also a Colorado Health First DMEPOS, PERS and Home Modification provider. We are a proud supporter of the Veterans Administration and provide services directly and as a sub-contractor.
